Hectic weeks
Friday, September 18, 2009 / 10:45 PM
My days have been pretty hectic these past few weeks. Let's just assume that this is the end of this week, okay? Back to my rambles, so I have been wanting to "accumulate" what had happened from the very start of the month till this day. This is gonna be a long long post. You have been warned.

I think it's best to start from the point where I had that interview, so here goes. It was just like any other interview, the basic ones, I mean. I was the first one to be interview. Oh luck. The interviewer started to ask me questions on what I intend to take there. He then, took a look at my O level grades. Here comes the bit where I was slightly upset. He assumed that O level's are equivalent to their version of O level's, which are GCSEs. When, in fact, they are not. Taking that to account, he said that I may not be able to take Biology as one of my subject choices. I thought, that's fine, I'm not gonna stay for long anyway. So I chose Geography. With that settled, I was to await an email from the school, confirming my acceptance. On the next night, I received a call from one of the teachers in charge, saying that I could not take Chemistry. He offered me Philosophy instead. I took it. So my subject combinations at that certain point was Math, English, Philosophy and Geography.

Which, I think, is not so bad. I received the email the next day after the call. The email contents were... how should I say.. not very informative. The main details that I got was that I was accepted and I had to come to school tomorrow. They did not say why nor state that tommorow's the day on which school starts.

It was a Friday. Let's just put in this way, I ended up going home way earlier than expected. I had a fresh start on the following week. I'm telling you, that school is just crazy. It's really big and crowded!! Kids could get trampled with the constant bustling about of bodies. Did I mention the school ranges from Year 7 to Year 13?

About my subjects, I've got absolutely no objections towards Math which is amusing, cause I hated Math back in Brunei. With English, I'm quite turned that it involves more of literature rather than analyzing speeches. And it's at those times that I wished I had lived at the time where Shakespeare's talk would be easier to decipher. Although, I wouldn't think I would understand English that well as oppose to now.

Geography is more or less a refresher from my one and three-quarter of years it has been absent. The invigorating idea of studying Geography here is that you get to go on field trips and I'm far from talking about road field trips. In February, there's a field trip to Barcelona. Isn't that cool?Pity, I'm not going. Oh well...

Now, there's a reason I'm choosing Philosophy as the last one to mention. I hate it. Seriously. There is no doubting it. I freaking hate it. It mainly talks about free thinkers and how they think and religion. Of any kind. One of my philosophy teachers said that they're gonna invite religious people over to talk about their religion, obviously. And at a certain point, we're gonna study the bible. Truly, I have no comment.

So far, I'm still adapting to the school. With everything, I'm trying to cope well.
9 months, 3 more.
